Memory Care Support and Prayer Group- January 8, 2012

What is unique about this support group?  First, while participants share information about dementia and memory loss, the purpose of this group is not about giving advice or information about memory loss.  The purpose of this group is to provide a safe place for sharing and prayer as a way to cope with the life events connected with caring for a loved one with memory loss?  The time together includes contemplative prayer, sharing, sitting in the quiet, resting in the Word of God. The group becomes a refuge and a place for receiving care. This setting provides a safe place for those who are caregivers to those with dementia-related illness to talk about feelings, explore ways to support one another, and pray.

The next gathering of the memory care support and prayer group that I lead at the St. Paul Monastery (2675 Benet Road, St. Paul, MN 55109) will be Tuesday, January 8, 2013.  The group gathers  on the second Tuesday of each month from 7-9pm.  The group continues to serve and support new members.

This group has been meeting since September, 2011 and, while there are many who come each month, there are new faces that join the group.  If you live in the Twin Cities area, you are invited to join us.  New people are always welcomed!
