BLUE CHRISTMAS LITURGY, DECEMBER 21

A Liturgy for Blue Christmas and The Longest Day will be held at Calvary Church, 2608 Blaisdell Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55408 (at the intersection of Blaisdell Ave and W 26th St) at 7:00 p.m. This liturgy is being offered through a partnership of Venite Ministries and Pivot Point Ministries.

Blue Christmas, also called the Longest Night, in the Western Christian tradition, is a day in the Advent season marking the longest night of the year which recently has become a time for those who want to celebrate the Incarnation, but for many different reasons, may not have the energy for “Joy To The World.” This is a liturgy for those, who at a particular time of life, find rejoicing to be hard work.

This liturgy is a time of worship and prayer for those who struggle with depression, have lost a loved one, have become unemployed, experience financial reverses, or any life event that has become burdensome and maybe even faith-challenging. This liturgy is quiet, reflective and renewing.

You are invited to join us.
