Wittenberg English Ministry

It has been a privilege to serve through Wittenberg English Ministry (WEM) in Lutherstadt Wittenberg, Germany.   WEM began 17 years ago through the vision of The Rev. Keith Loesch and the Lord Mayor of Wittenberg.  The concept is to provide a ministry to English speaking peoples as they encounter Wittenberg.  There are three audiences:  tourists who speak English, residents of Wittenberg who speak English or who are learning English, and, international students studying in Wittenberg.

Devotional services are held on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday in the Corpus Christi Chapel next to the Town Church.  A Saturday service of the Word alternates between the Town Church and the Castle Church.

In addition, chaplaincy and pastoral care are available to English speaking people if they are in need.  As I have worked here I have also developed relationships with people of Wittenberg who may not be connected to the worship services.

This is a wonderful ministry of Word and Service that allows for outreach and support as the Holy Spirit works through the people of God.
