Retreats, Workshops and Seminars
Pivot Point Ministries offers guided retreats for both groups and individuals. In addition, Pivot Point Ministries can provide speakers for retreats around certain topics and needs. Each retreat or presentation is designed for the context of the individual or group.
The group retreats can be designed for your particular group or they can focus on one of the following areas: *prayer and sprititual renewal *living the spiritual disciplines *deep change through the Spirit *personal spiritual renewal *planning for successful living after 55 *the spiritual journey for men *living simply: it’s a matter of stewardship Individual and group retreats offer opportunity for formation of one’s personal spiritual journey or the deepening of a spiritual community that can serve as on on-going community as well as a short-term community. Steve Arnold will help with selection of facilities, design of program, selection of topc with the intent of making the time together a powerful time in the Spirit of God.

WHERE IS GOD WHEN IT HURTS?, February 28 (and continuing every Sunday through March 28) 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m. Scripture study and discussions based upon Philip Yancey’s book, “Where Is God When It Hurts?” The time together will be an opportunity to explore pain and suffering through the lens of faith. Topics include: why pain, where is God in the pain, how we respond to pain, coping with pain, what is the role of faith. A light supper will be served each evening. A participant can come to one class or all classes. Each class stands alone. Purchase of the book is optional but would be helpful. The group will meet at Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, 674 Johnson Parkway, St. Paul, MN A light supper will be served. The economy has impacted many congregations and other judicatories, causing commissioned ministers to lose their positions. How do we understand what is happening to them? As leaders in the Church, the Sabbath experience flowing from the Baptismal covenant informs and transforms the disciple and gives ability to lead and serve in meaningful ways. Participants will learn various Sabbath practices, explore a variety of ways to pray, and be supported in developing a Sabbath life-style that leads to wellness and wholeness.
